Use Blind Carbon Copy (Bcc:) for student e-mail addresses when sending e-mails to multiple students. It can be seen as a FERPA violation to expose student personal e-mail addresses without permission.

When you use the Bcc: field, recipients will not see the other students' e-mail addresses. (If you use the Notify Students option in PeopleSoft to send the e-mail, Bcc: is used by default.)

You can't permanently enable the Bcc: field in Outlook. By default, it is not enabled.

If you use the Windows or Macintosh Outlook software/client (not the Web Access), the procedure is very similar:
Open a new message. In the new message, go to Options and you will see the Bcc: field as one of the "Show fields," possibilities. Click it and it will stay enabled. You do not have to save or send the new message for this to stay enabled.

If you use OWA/ Outlook Web Access (Exchange):
After logging in, click on Options in the upper right hand corner. In the drop down menu, select "See All Options." On the next page, click on Settings in the left column. Mail is the first of the settings and you will a checkbox for Always show Bcc: Check that option and it will stay enabled.
